What makes a quotation accurate

The gap between a rough figure and a firm one is almost always information. These are the things that change a price most.

Dimensions and quantities
Sign sizes, letter heights, panel counts and the number of locations. For multi-site work, a schedule by branch is far more useful than a single specification.
Illumination
Front-lit, halo-lit, back-lit or unlit changes the build completely. So does whether a power supply already exists at the position, or has to be brought to it.
Substrate and fixing
What the sign is fixing into — glass, gypsum, concrete, block, cladding or ACP — determines the fixing method and sometimes the whole approach.
Access and working hours
Height, access equipment and whether the work must be done overnight or in an operator access window. Mall installations are almost always out of hours.
Approvals
Whether an approval is required, whether one already exists, and whether the landlord or mall operator has issued their requirements.
